Lovely smell
3Great smelling beard oil but it makes my skin itch. It certainly softens your beard though
Could be better
3I've just started with my new razor after many years of using multi blade razors.The shave is great makes me wonder why the multi blade razors became so popular.I do have a couple of minor gripes though. Firstly the razor feels unbalanced and top heavy; it feels as though the handle should be longer.Secondly the corners of the blade holder are quite sharp and can poke you when shaving, more rounded edges would make it more comfortable.

5Great double edge safety razor, perfect weight and balance. Not aggressive, so suitable for beginners to traditional shaving. I recommend watching videos on how to shave with this type of razor, and then practice without a razor blade to perfect your 3 pass technique. First pass in the direction of the growth, second pass across and the third pass against the growth, going very carefully. Finish with a cold water rinse, and Gillette after shave balm. Your face will feel so fresh.
Ultimately disappointed I'm afraid
2First of all, I use this to shave my head, and therefore my experience will probably be different to those using it more conventionally. I was interested in this product as soon as I saw it, looking to replace my aging safety razor from a competing brand. My wife treated me and I looked forward to using this razor, but honestly I was disappointed. I find that the handle isn't really suitable in my opinion, as the hatching on the grip is pretty shallow and gets slippery pretty quickly, leading to the razor being dropped, which is exacerbated by the weight of the handle and consequently the unit as a whole. Installing the blade is a more convoluted process than I've experienced with other safety razors, as you are required to fully unscrew the handle and take apart the head, before placing the blade and reversing the process. I've found that the handle either comes unscrewed and needs tightening during use, or that sufficient tightening to keep it all together then makes removing the blade after use problematic, as you're forced to grip the non-cutting edges of the blade itself and apply sufficient force to the handle to then unscrew it. Not had any mishaps yet but it feels as if it's only a matter of time.I really wanted to love this razor, replacing my older one with this. But in all honesty I'll be returning to my old razor as this model, though looking good, is inferior for the task of shaving. If I were using it on my face, I would hope that my review would be slightly higher, but the issues mentioned above would still be present so the product still falls short of that coveted 5 stars.With more and more people turning to the more 'traditional' methods of shaving, I would hope that future iterations of this product would address the issues listed above and produce a product that handles as good as it looks.

5Stop looking at the reviews and just buy this razor! I didn't quite believe that they were as good as people were making out! Such a clean shaved finish! 100% would recommend this razor!
Old school
5Wow!I've tried every different type of razor over the years - I was up to using a 5 blade cartridge from a diffferent manufacturer - when I came across King Gilette.I was going to try one of the subscription razors, but was tempted with the look of this one (the others all look a bit naff).Just tried it now, and have been blown away by it; not only does the handle feel 'right', but the single blade seems to shave as close as a multi blade system, and that's just on one pass.I feel you have to take a bit more care with it, especially if your skin is sensitive to nicks (mine is) but man it's worth it.Not only does it look cool, but I think it's going to make shaving a bit more fun again.
Back to the Fifty's
5I first started shaving in the late 50's with a razor similar to this, tried all types since then. Buying this took me back there, great razor feels good in your hand and well balanced love it.
Blades
5Bought a pack of 10 razor blades to go back to what I started with 40 odd years ago.I can honestly say that they are just as good as they were.I done both hot a cold water shaves both were fine.
Nice
4Had the Gillette DE razor a few months, first DE I have owned.  Bought this and a set of the blades as well, along with the clear gel.  The razor is nice to use, not as daunting to use as I thought it would be.  The blades are ok, but find feather blades far better, they’re also cheaper!  The gel is ok, reasonably slick, but I have moved onto using traditional soap and brush.
King shave
5I have many vintage Gillette razors, As yet I've still to buy the King C & will be doing so, I tend to use my "superspeed" '1950 W1' Which is incredible, Or my 1920s brownie "3rd style" open comb "with customised solid brass handle & smooth clean finish made to exact specs but 1 solid piece (As early Gillette handle's, On many types of razors can be less complimentary to the blade head)
